Flint & Genesee Chamber to Offer First of Two ZingTrain Sessions April 13
(FLINT, Mich., April 6, 2016) — Local business professionals and employers are invited to learn some of Ann Arbor-based Zingerman’s secrets to success this month. ZingTrain, the company’s business training arm, is teaming up with the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce to present “How to Improve: Zingerman’s Path to Lean” on April 13.
During the four-hour seminar, Tom Root, Managing Partner of Zingerman’s Mail Order, and Timo Anderson, ZingTrain Trainer, will explain how the company improves its processes and increases customer satisfaction by applying the concepts of lean thinking and continuous improvement in the workplace.
“Terms like ‘lean’ and ‘continuous improvement’ are often associated with manufacturing and production,” said George Wilkinson, Group Vice President of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce. “But this ZingTrain seminar shows how these concepts can be applied to any aspect of business, be it office administration or customer service.”
According to Wilkinson, the Chamber will also host a second ZingTrain seminar, “Managing Ourselves: Leading the Life We Want to Lead,” on August 31. During this session, ZingTrain Trainers Ann Lofgren and Timo Anderson will explain how managing yourself as a leader is key to the success of both you and your business.
Since its founding as a small corner delicatessen in 1982, Zingerman’s has grown to include nine unique businesses, with almost 700 employees and over $55 million in annual revenue. Today, the company shares its unique approach to business through training workshops presented to clients of all sizes and industries, ranging from retail and restaurants to government and health care.

The “How to Improve” seminar is scheduled for April 13, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Mott Foundation Building, at 519 S. Saginaw St., Flint. Admission is $40 and includes lunch. To register, click here.
