With the weather beginning to break, kayakers are dreaming of getting back onto the water. Along with the news of a Paddlers’ Landing being built at Mott Park Recreation Area, the excitement of the Flint River is spreading quickly.
This weekend, three events will be hosted to support crowdfunding efforts of the Corridor Alliance Chapter of the Flint River Watershed Coalition, along with partners Mott Park Recreation Association and the City of Flint, to benefit the construction of Paddlers’ Landing.
Paddlers’ Landing Kayak Raffle & Pub Crawl at ArtWalk – Friday, March 8, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
The pub crawl starts at Soggy Bottom Bar, then heads to Churchill’s Food & Spirits and the Torch Bar and ends at Blackstone’s Grill. A kayak raffle drawing will be announced at 9 p.m. Raffle tickets are $5.
Paddlers’ Landing Kayak Raffle at the Market – Saturday, March 9, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
At the Flint Farmers’ Market, attendees can learn about Paddlers’ Landing, check out a sneak peek of the new Flint River Water Trail Guide and enter to win a kayak. Raffle tickets are $5 with a drawing at 2:30 p.m.
Michigan State vs. Michigan Basketball Watch Party – Saturday, March 9, 7 p.m. – 11 p.m.
At Blackstone’s Grill, join the Corridor Alliance for a friendly rivalry and a great game. During the event, participants can enjoy appetizers, drink specials and a 50/50 raffle.
