    • “Be The Astronaut” – Blast off in a space capsule and discover the future of space exploration! Come aboard Starship Sloan, explore interactive navigation and technology stations and get ready to pilot your own mission. Videogame interfaces and hands-on command centers allow visitors to become the engineers and astronauts that make space flight possible.
    • “Collecting Flint from A to Z” – The Sloan Museum has a variety of artifacts, nearly 400,000 of them! You name it, they probably have one. This exhibit highlights 26 groups from Sloan’s vast and varied collection. Each alphabetized set reveals something about Flint’s shared history. View historic automobiles, firearms, radios, wedding dresses, beer, blueprints and everything in-between.
    • “Flint and the American Dream” – Take a fascinating journey through Flint in the 20th century – from the birth of the auto industry to the present. The gallery displays over 600 artifacts and photographs, including rare antique automobiles, colorful neon signs, period clothing, household furnishings and commercial goods.
    • “An Equal Opportunity Lie” – In 1967, Flint Mayor Floyd McCree, resigned his appointed position, stating, “I refuse to live an equal opportunity lie.” He did so in protest of the city commission’s defeat of an open housing ordinance. Using objects and images from Sloan Museum’s collection, this exhibition examines the housing segregation that characterized Flint’s residential development, as well as efforts to wrest the city free from discriminatory housing practices.
    • “Wisner’s Whizbang Emporium” – Explore Wisner’s Whizbang Emporium, an interactive gallery where young and old can play together. Wonder at toys from the past as the little one’s shop for food in the miniature grocery store and cook in the play kitchen. Take the wheel in the climb-on ambulance, play a board game or discover a book together.

  • (Tours run 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.) The Stockton House was constructed in 1872 by Thomas and Maria Stockton. In 1920, the grandson of Thomas and Maria sold the property to the Archdiocese of Detroit for the establishment of a hospital, to be operated by the Sisters of St. Joseph. Then in 2002, the house was purchased by the For Flint Investments. It was renovated in 2005 and designated as a Michigan Historical Site and State Historical Marker. Visit this hidden gem of Flint and learn about its unique history.

    • “Thinking Hurts Too Much” – (Exhibition ends Friday) Enjoy this slow scrolling video that incorporates found and manipulated internet footage, creating a panoramic collage of gyrating, pulsing and writhing characters to expose America’s, and the world’s, desire for the sensational. The video is an immersive experience that is constantly changing, which makes us aware of the passage of time as we witness the reactions of other viewers standing around us.
    • “Small Worlds” – Small Worlds highlights different techniques, styles and various types of paperweights from the 19th century, the classic period for paperweight manufacture, to present day. This exhibition features works from the classic period by European glass factories like French crystal manufacturers Baccarat, Clichy and Saint-Louis.  Some of the earliest contemporary paperweights in Small Worlds were created by Charles Kaziun and Dominick Labino, both members of the Studio Glass Movement. Numerous works by Paul Stankard, Rick Ayotte and Cathy Richardson as well as artworks by seventeen other contemporary paperweight makers are also featured.
    • “From Lens to Eye to Hand: Photorealism 1969 to Today” – (Exhibition begins Saturday) This exhibition reexamines the important contemporary art movement that found its roots in the late 1960s in California and New York and continues today, known as Photorealism. Photorealism features ordinary elements of contemporary life such as vehicles, buildings, streets and consumer products in an objective, often clinical, manner. The paintings that make up this exhibit demonstrate that Photorealism remains undiluted, conceptually coherent and consistently compelling.
    • “In Search of Lost Time: Peter Milton Prints” – (Exhibition begins Saturday) Drawn from the FIA’s permanent collection and loans from a private collection, these elaborately detailed, large-scale etchings explains Peter Milton’s fascination with the 19th century, using references from literature, early photography and painters such as John Singer Sargent as well as his interest in photographers of the 1930s such as Andre Kertesz.
    • “Breaking with Tradition: Contemporary Ceramics” – (Exhibition begins Saturday) During the mid-to-late 20th century, ceramicists used a sculptural approach in their work instead of using traditional shapes. Free of the need to make useful or “utilitarian” objects, ceramicists explored the properties of clay and the chemistry of glazes. This exhibition reflects the desire of ceramicists to experiment and depart from ceramics as purely functional objects.

Maryanne Mott and her late husband, Herman Warsh, initiated the collection in 2001 as a means of providing fine art to a broader audience in the City of Flint and beyond. With a focus on art produced since 1940, the Mott-Warsh Collection contains work by over 125 artists covering a range of media from drawing to painting, prints to photography and mixed media to sculpture.
