“We want to reach out to everyone who is a TeenQuest graduate to find out what ideas they have about developing an alumni program, what they would like to see, what type of programming they would benefit from,” said Amy Watts, Coordinator of the Chamber’s Employer Education and Training unit. One graduate has already said she would like to see further professional development workshops that would build on the TeenQuest program modules.
The event will start with a Meet & Greet with food from 5 – 6 p.m., followed by a Brainstorming session from 6 – 7 p .m. To register, contact Watts at or call 810-600-1459.
TeenQuest is a free afterschool pre-employment and leadership training program sponsored by the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce designed to teach Genesee County teens important skills needed to help them stand out in the crowd to employers. Teens 14-18 years old and currently in grades 9-12 are eligible. Participants who successfully complete TeenQuest can participate in the Summer Youth Initiative Job Fair. Additionally, other employment or intern opportunities may be available through area employers throughout the school year to teens who complete the program.
