The Speak To Your Health! Community Survey Committee is requesting the assistance of major employers and community leaders in Flint & Genesee with data collection for its 2015 survey of county residents.
The Speak To Your Health! Community Survey will collect important information about health status and quality of life concerns of residents for Flint & Genesee. Residents are asked about a variety of health issues, including access to healthcare, neighborhood issues, health status, health behaviors and more. Conducted since 2003, this biennial survey is designed by the health department, and community and university partners.
Employers and community leaders are asked to encourage the participation of their staffs in the online survey. The survey can be accessed, beginning Oct. 1, through the Genesee County Health Department’s website at www.gchd.us/speak, which is also mobile-friendly.
“We want to hear from them as we work to improve the health status of all Genesee County residents,” said Suzanne Cupal, MPH, of the Genesee County Health Department and committee co-chair.
Survey results are available to all Flint & Genesee residents. The data can be analyzed by gender, race, age, across time, and mapped geographically to determine trends by neighborhood, zip code or county. These results can be used for health program planning and evaluation, grant proposals, community education and policy development. Visit www.speak.sph.umich.edu to access results from previous surveys.
The committee has also developed newsletter articles, health briefs and infographic materials that highlight health promotion and previous survey data for use throughout your organization.
