Eight high school teams match up once again to kick off the 2023 football season
(FLINT, Mich. – July 19, 2023) Kettering University’s Atwood Stadium will host the sixth-annual Flint & Genesee Vehicle City Gridiron Classic to kick off the 2023 high school football season with two days of doubleheaders, beginning on Aug. 24.
This year’s games will feature matchups between intra-county rivals as well as Genesee County schools taking on visiting schools from neighboring communities including state champion for the past two years Warren De La Salle.
Thursday, Aug. 24
- 4 p.m. – Clio vs. Mt. Morris
- 7:30 p.m. – Warren De La Salle Collegiate vs. Davison
Friday, Aug. 25
- 4 p.m. – Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy vs. Hamady
- 7:30 p.m. – Kearsley vs. Carman-Ainsworth
Tickets are $8 at the gate. Tickets also will be available for purchase online at GOFan.co for $9 (including processing fee) beginning two weeks before the event. Stadium parking is $5.
