(FLINT, MICH. – June 21) Today Senderra Rx Specialty Pharmacy announced the opening of a Flint Township-based Patient Services Center. The new Center represents a $675,000 investment and will bring 170 new jobs to Flint Township over the next three years.
“My congratulations to Senderra on the opening of their new Patient Services Center,” said Tim Herman, CEO, Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce. “This is a great example of what happens when business, government and the community work together. As a result, we now have another quality business bringing jobs to Genesee County and a great service to their patients. This is a win for all involved.”
The Texas-based specialty pharmacy will receive a $500,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance based grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). Additional assistance will also be provided by Flint Township.
According to Win Purifoy, Chairman for Senderra, the company chose to locate in Michigan because of the wide range of resources available to them in the region.
“We were pleased to see the range of qualified people in the region,” said Purifoy. “The State of Michigan and Flint Township made it a win-win situation to bring the Center here to Michigan. We received a great incentive package and we know that we will be able to find the qualified people we need in Genesee County. This new Service Center provides a great opportunity to expand on our service-oriented traditions.”
Currently, there are 34 employees at the Center. Nine of the employees were hired through the State of Michigan’s Community Ventures program, which focuses on finding employment for the long-term unemployed.
Senderra Rx is a disease management specialty pharmacy serving patients with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, osteoporosis and multiple sclerosis. The company provides dedicated resources for patients to assist all aspects of therapy management. Proper patient education regarding medication and support will be provided through the Service Center. Services provided at the Center will include:
- Prescription education and coordination with the fulfillment team
- Prior-authorization with payers
- Compliance education and training
- Enrollment in support programs, as well as financial assistance programs
- High touch, personal customer service.
Karyn Miller, Flint Township Supervisor says her community welcomes Senderra to a growing business community.
“We are so pleased to have Senderra bring jobs and opportunity to the township,” said Miller. “The investment is a welcome addition to the community and the region. We will do everything we can to support Senderra and its employees.”
