(FLINT, Mich., Feb. 20, 2014) — The Flint & Genesee Convention & Visitors Bureau (FGCVB) is seeking nominations for the 2014 Hospitality and Community Champion Awards. The FGCVB is a business unit of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce.
The Hospitality Awards recognize outstanding service by local restaurants and hotels, and individual hospitality workers including bartenders, hostesses, waitresses, taxi drivers, front desk staff personnel or anyone working in guest services. The Community Champion Award recognizes an individual for bringing a conference/meeting to the county with the greatest economic impact to the region.
“Hospitality workers are on the frontlines of creating first impressions for visitors to this region,” said Chamber CEO Tim Herman. “It is important that we recognize their service and role in making Flint and Genesee a great place to live, work and visit.”
“Nominating someone for a Hospitality Award or the Community Champion Award is a wonderful opportunity for the community to recognize and thank the hard working men and women who contribute to the success of Genesee County’s hospitality industry,” said Cheryl DeFrain, Director of the FGCVB. “Their efforts represent a more than $120 million impact on the local economy.”
The FGCVB awards recognize the superior service of hospitality and service industry employees based on friendliness, courtesy, appearance, positive attitude, knowledge of the area and more. Recognition is given in the following categories:
