State Webinars October 24 &31; TARDEC Workshop October 25; PTAC Seminar November 1
The Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce Procurement Technical Assistance Center’s (PTAC) will partner with the State of Michigan to present a webinar series on October 24 and 31 and will also host a Selling your Products or Services to the Government workshop on November 1. The workshop will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce in the Mott Board Room.
On Thursday, October 25, PTAC will host a free training designed to teach the ways a high-tech product or idea can gain recognition from the U.S. military. The session will be conducted by officials from the Warren-based U.S. Army TARDEC from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce in the Mott Board Room.
The State of Michigan webinar series will provide specifics on getting started in government contracting with the state. Participants will have an opportunity to gain specific knowledge about contracting with state departments.
Dustin Frigy, Director of PTAC for the Regional Chamber says businesses should consider learning how government contracting can increase growth and diversification, as well as learning how to take your high-tech product to the U.S. military.
“Working with the government can provide a wealth of opportunity for businesses,” said Frigy. “This seminar provides the information needed to successfully navigate the government maze and reveals exactly what they are looking for from contractors. Come to all or one of the events and we will show you how to grow your business.”
Workshop attendees also will learn about the services and support the Regional Chamber PTAC has available to help with the contracting process. The workshop will benefit management and employees who currently support or have an interest in facilitating government contracting within their companies.
The seminar focuses on the following topics:
- Eligibility Requirements
- Types of Solicitations
- Marketing Strategies
- Laws and Regulations
- How to Request a Post-Submission Debriefing
- What Products and Services does the State of Michigan buy?
- Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
- How to Obtain Bid Information
There is no cost to attend any of the workshops, but reservations are required. The Regional Chamber is located at 519 S. Saginaw St. in downtown Flint.
