Some government contracts are set aside for certain businesses with special certifications, such as woman-owned, small disadvantaged businesses and veteran-owned. However, the odds of businesses owned by women winning a federal contract are about 21 percent lower than for otherwise similar companies, according to a new report from the Commerce Department.
The Region 6 PTAC’s Certification Series can help small businesses obtain the appropriate documentation to compete for these federal contracts.
On March 8, the series will cover the certification requirements for Women-Owned Small Businesses and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSB & EDWOSB). Register Now
The class will be held 8:30-10 a.m. in the PTAC conference room at the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, 519 S. Saginaw St.
Future classes in the series:
- April 12 – Series 8(a) Certification
- May 10 – Federal Supply Schedule (FSS)
Please contact Olga Morales at for more information about the March 8 program.
