The Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC) Executive Committee on May 18 named Quentin L. Messer, Jr. as the MEDC’s new CEO. The announcement comes after a national search by the Executive Committee that included a needs analysis for the role and input from stakeholders statewide on key attributes for the position.

Last week brought a whirlwind of COVID-19 guidance and information. The Center for Disease Control & Prevention issued new guidance on outdoor mask use for individuals who are fully vaccinated, while unvaccinated people are still required to wear a mask at outdoor and indoor gatherings. Quickly, the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services updated its guidance to align with the CDC.
