Site highlights details of the Advanced Manufacturing District in Genesee County, answers frequently asked questions
(FLINT, Mich., Sept. 14, 2023) — The Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance has launched a new website to provide information about the Advanced Manufacturing District and showcase wide-ranging opportunities of the 1,000-acre campus, including the potential to add thousands of local jobs.
This district, located in Mundy Township, is positioned to be home to a high-tech advanced manufacturer, including those who produce batteries or semiconductors.
“We’re marketing the Advanced Manufacturing District to companies that will help bring our supply chain back to the United States and grow our local talent pipeline,” said Tyler Rossmaessler, the executive director of the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance. “This will create opportunities for young people so they don’t have to move away to find good-paying jobs, including those that don’t require a college degree. Between these jobs and the economic boost this will give our small businesses, we are very excited for the impact this initiative will have on our region and the entire state.”
The website has information about the campus as well as answers to frequently asked questions. The Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance will update the site with new information and developments about the district as they become available.
“We know there is strong support in our community for efforts to create new job opportunities,” Rossmaessler said. “Our team is dedicated to doing what we can to provide updates about this exciting campus that will benefit our entire region.”
