Employers seeking to fill entry-level positions in Genesee County will have the opportunity to recruit from hundreds of job seekers this spring. In April, the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce will host two job fairs aiming to connect local businesses and nonprofits with qualified applicants.
Flint & Genesee Job & Resource Fair
Friday, April 13 | Baker College of Flint
The Flint & Genesee Job & Resource Fair is open to TeenQuest alumni, Career Edge participants and general public job seekers. Employers can conduct interviews on-site in a private room, if desired.
Employers who hire graduates of the TeenQuest and Career Edge will be eligible to apply for funds that cover up to half of normal hiring and employment costs during the first 90 days of employment. Please note that this is a limited resource based on available grant support.
The cost for employers to participate is free for Chamber members and $100 for non-members.
Employers must register by April 6 to participate. To register, apply online.

Summer Youth Initiative (SYI) Job Fair
Saturday, April 28 | Baker College of Flint
Each year, the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce connects hundreds of area teens, ages 14-19, with summer employment through SYI. These young people are graduates of TeenQuest, a pre-employment leadership training program that teaches teens the skills needed to get and keep a job.
For-profit employers are eligible to receive a 50-50 salary match for employees hired through SYI. Nonprofits and schools are eligible to have up to 100 percent of costs subsidized.
To participate in the job fair and program, employers must complete the RFP by March 22.
