On Wednesday, August 8, nearly 400 Flint-area teens will volunteer at 25 organizations across Genesee County during the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce Summer Youth Initiative (SYI) Volunteer Service Day. Teens will volunteer from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
The Regional Chamber’s Summer Youth Initiative program helps more than 400 TeenQuest graduates find summer employment. Volunteer Service Day provides an opportunity to give back to the community and culminates in an end of summer celebration at Kearsley Park.
Volunteers will provide a range of services including day camp support, gardening and landscaping, outdoor and indoor clean up, organization projects, creative projects and general office work.
