Accessing vendor opportunities with the Mass Transportation Authority (MTA) is the focus of a unique purchasing event for small businesses in Flint & Genesee.
Make Your Connection with MTA will allow small businesses to learn about a range of needs the local transit authority is looking to fill for the 2015-2016 fiscal year. Presented by the I-69 Thumb Region Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), the event takes June 17, from 8 – 9:30 a.m., at the Mott Foundation Building, 519 S. Saginaw St., in Flint.
“This will be an interactive opportunity for our clients to engage with MTA representatives and walk away with the knowledge of existing opportunities and the confidence to make a proposal,” said Stacy Betts, Director of PTAC at the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce.
The MTA is seeking the following products and services for the 2015-2016 fiscal year:
- Architectural and engineering services
- Armored car services
- Asphalt pavement repair & resealing
- Automotive filters
- Carpet replacement
- Employee benefit insurance brokerage services (Health/Vision)
- Floor mat and towel service
- General contractor/Construction services
- Janitorial supplies
- Oils and lubricants
- Snow removal services
“MTA is looking for an opportunity to engage more with local small businesses to encourage them to become vendors,” said Betts. “MTA is also interested in hearing feedback from small businesses that have worked with them in the past.”
Registration begins at 8 a.m. and light refreshments will be provided. Click here to pre-register for the event.
