Leadership training in Flint & Genesee celebrates 50 years

2023/2024 Leadership Flint & Genesee program cohort to graduate, new cohort applications open May 30

(Flint, Mich. May 7, 2024) Leadership training has been a tradition in Flint & Genesee for more than 50 years. Through several name and organizational changes, one thing has remained the same – the commitment to developing leaders in Flint and Genesee County.

“We are proud to be part of such a longstanding legacy in Flint & Genesee,” says Brianna Mosier, executive director of Flint & Genesee Education & Talent. “That is why we want to celebrate the many individuals who have gone through this training at our first Alumni Reunion.”

The inaugural Leadership Flint & Genesee Alumni Reunion will be held on Tuesday, May 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Durant-Dort Factory One (303 Water Street, Flint) and is open to alumni from programs including Leadership Flint, Leadership Genesee, BEST Nonprofit Leadership Institute, Leadership Alliance, Leadership Now, and Leadership Flint & Genesee.

During the event, the 2023/2024 Leadership Flint & Genesee cohort will be recognized, and participants will hear an alumni keynote from Dale Weighill, Associate Vice President at Mott Community College and Genesee County Commissioner.

The search for the 2024/2025 Leadership Flint & Genesee cohort will begin on May 30. Applications will be open to individuals looking to start or continue their leadership journey.

To apply, individuals must attend an informational session held on May 30, June 5, or June 18.
