Back for its third year, the Vehicle City Gridiron Classic has become a tradition for Flint and Genesee County. Athletes from the area will come together for two days of back-to-back games at Kettering University’s Atwood Stadium.
Eight teams will face-off over the two-day event. Tickets are $7, which includes admission to both games on one day. Parking is $5. Concessions and merchandise will be available for purchase during the event.
This year’s matchups include:
Thursday, Aug. 29
- 4 p.m. – Grand Blanc Bobcats vs. Midland Dow Chargers
- 7:30 p.m. – Goodrich Martians vs. Powers Chargers
Friday, Aug. 30
- 4 p.m. – Lakeville Falcons vs. North Branch Broncos
- 7:30 p.m. – Carman-Ainsworth Cavaliers vs. Port Huron Big Reds
The four games will kick off the high school football season.
The classic is organized by the Vehicle City Sports Committee with support from the Al Serra Auto Plaza, Hurley Medical Center, Dort Federal Credit Union and the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Kettering University and Participating School Districts.
