CEO Blog: It Takes a Village

I’d like to start this month’s blog post by asking you a question. Can I count on you?

Can I count on you to help improve our region’s image… to trumpet our strengths and assets…and share positive stories that reflect our shared values? How? By collaborating with the Flint & Genesee Chamber and our partners to promote Flint and the communities of Genesee County as a great place to do business, visit and live.

As the Flint & Genesee Chamber works with public, private and nonprofit entities on an economic recovery, we are working diligently to build awareness of the region’s destination brand and the See what’s possible marketing campaign.

The campaign – launched earlier this year — highlights the best of what the region has to offer and has entered its second phase of advertising. The new wave includes new billboards, radio and television commercials as well as print and transit advertisements within Genesee County.

We are continuing to identify ways in which you can help to promote the region. In addition to the marketing materials and comprehensive new website, we have developed a Campaign Communications Toolkit that offers a web badge, talking points, frequently asked questions, fast facts, summary of research, brand message, brand logos, copies of the commercials, print ads, graphic standards and more.

Rebranding the Flint & Genesee region is a monumental effort and requires all of us working together.  I implore you to put the tools and information to use and help tell our collective story. Help us communicate who we really are and the great value that Flint & Genesee has to offer. The destination brand gives us a way to go beyond the headlines to show our spirit, our resilience, our attitude as well as our quest for innovation, education and entrepreneurism.

So again, can I count on you?
