The Hurley Foundation cordially invites you to join us for the 6th Annual Miracle Dinner Picnic on July 28, 2015 from 5-8 p.m., featuring carnival games, face painting, photo booth, music and more. The event is at the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre, 5353 Gateway Centre, Flint.
The cost is $50 per person, children 5-12: $10 and children 4 and younger are FREE. Proceeds benefit Child Life Services at Hurley Children’s Hospital, the only service of its kind in the region comprised of Genesee, Lapeer and Shiawassee counties. Child Life Services at Hurley Children’s Hospital has been providing supportive care and education for pediatric patients for over 40 years.
“We provide support to children who are getting ready for a test or a procedure and explain to them what is going to happen. The Child Life Service team explains to the children with a doll if they are younger, or a book if they are older, along with a variety of distraction activities. So, when a child has a test, the fear of the unknown isn’t so huge. This service is crucial and only adds to the clinical excellence we provide at Hurley, day in and day out, “said Laura Parcels, Director of Child Life at Hurley Children’s Hospital.
