PTAC Sponsors Free Seminar in Grand Blanc on November 11
(FLINT, MICHIGAN, NOVEMBER 4) New growth opportunities are available to local businesses large and small through working with the government. To explore the possibilities, join the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce on November 11 for Selling your Products or Services to the Government from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Grand Blanc Township Hall.
Dustin Frigy, Director of PTAC for the Regional Chamber says government contracting just may provide the best “new” opportunity for your business.
“The government market presents a wealth of opportunity,” said Frigy. “There are multiple ways that businesses large and small can work with local, state and federal government departments. That’s why this seminar is so important. It provides the information needed to successfully navigate the government maze and reveals exactly what they are looking for from contractors. Come to the Grand Blanc workshop on November 11 and we will show you how to grow your business.”
According to Central Sign & Fabricating Co-Owner Carolyn Govette, working with PTAC has helped her business learn about opportunities they would not have known about and that has made a huge difference for the company.
“We have been awarded contracts thanks to PTAC,” said Govette. “The PTAC staff keeps us informed and makes sure we know how to approach opportunities. They are definitely helpful and responsive. I encourage businesses that have an interest in government contracting to take a look at what PTAC can do for them.”
Attendees also will learn about the services and support the Regional Chamber PTAC has available to help with the contracting process. Those encouraged to attend include management and employees who currently support or have an interest in facilitating government contracting within their companies.
The seminar focuses on the following topics:
- Eligibility Requirements
- Types of Solicitations
- Marketing Strategies
- Laws and Regulations
- How to Request a Post-Submission Debriefing
- What Products and Services does the State of Michigan buy?
- Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
