Congratulations to Stacie Scherman of Flint Podcasting Company for her first-place finish in the GreenLight Flint Business Model Competition. Flint Podcasting Company, which will help local, independent podcast creators generate content, produce material and reach audiences, took home the grand prize of $5,000.
Scherman, a member of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce and active with the Young Professionals Advisory Board, now moves onto the GreenLight Michigan competition on March 30 where the grand prize is $25,000.
True Light Systems Express Photo Kiosk, a photo gift business to allow easy access to physical prints, finished second in the GreenLight Flint competition. Partners Mark Evans and Dan Kurin were awarded $3,000.
Third-place went to EmFlower, which returns urban lots to agricultural productivity while supplying a growing demand for local cut flowers and providing job opportunities. Partners Heidi McAra and Meghan Hoffman were awarded $2,000.
