The Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce Economic Development (ED) team is working with area businesses in an effort to support business growth in the region. In 2012, more than 200 companies that sell products and services outside the local area will receive visits from ED staff.
According to Janice Karcher, Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce Vice President of Economic Development, the businesses included in the retention program are an important part of the region’s economic landscape.
“Our goal is to provide support, assistance and resource connectivity for businesses in the region,” said Karcher. “The economic viability of the region is dependent on keeping existing businesses strong, as we attract new businesses to the region. It is beneficial to Flint-Genesee County to provide the necessary support for businesses throughout the area.”
