Businesses in the medical technology sector are looking at Flint, Michigan with eager eyes after the announcement that the Great Lakes Medical Technology Center is a new Renaissance Zone.
This new distinction abates the Michigan Business Tax and real and personal property taxes for 15 years. With over 700,000 square feet of space available, this Class A facility is the ideal location for medical technology businesses to grow and expand in a virtually tax-free environment.
“The facility is becoming a regional center of medical technology,” said Flint Mayor Dayne Walling.
The one million square foot complex now houses Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy and Insight Institute of Neurosurgery and Neuroscience (IINN).
“These two firms offer competitive subtenant options for companies to join in the development and introduction of medical technology solutions,” said Tim Herman, CEO of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce.
Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy and IINN work closely with the Regional Chamber and local government organizations to promote and support business development opportunities offered at the Great Lakes Medical Technology Center.
