There will be a lot to do in Flint & Genesee according to the Convention and Visitors Bureau. From Maestro Enrique Diemecke celebrating 25 years conducting the Flint Symphony Orchestra to the grand opening of the Flint Farmers’ Market at its new location downtown, to kayaking adventures through the Flint River Watershed Coalition and sampling the fare from Flint’s growing Foodie Movement, 2014 will offer something for everyone.

Flint is “Festival Central” – if you can think it up, Flint will celebrate it! Starting with the second weekend in June is the Flint Art Fair, followed by the Sloan Summer Fair and the Flint July 4th Celebration. July continues with the Buckham Alley Festival , Flint Folk Music Festival and Michigan Storytellers Festival. In August the festivals range from Flint Drop Fest to the Crim Festival of Races. As the year winds down, Indie Film fans look forward to the Flint Film Festival in October and those early Christmas shoppers eagerly await the First Frost Arts and Fine Crafts Fair. Take a ride through the past at Crossroads Village. From a Mississippi-style paddle boat and Venetian swings to a turn of the century carousel and one of the last narrow gauge railroads, Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad delivers 100 years’ worth of fun. Opening Day is May 24.
