Flint & Genesee Education & Talent launches DEI Champion Certificate Series, other workshops in first quarter of 2025

New Talent Development catalog to kick off Feb. 5, 2025

(Flint, Mich., Jan. 14, 2025) Local talent development provider Flint & Genesee Education & Talent is launching its quarterly Talent Development catalog. The division, a part of the Flint & Genesee Group, is offering a range of training from the Future of Hiring to Canva 101 for Business. New this quarter is the DEI Champion Certificate Series led by the Flint & Genesee Group’s Executive Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Community Engagement, Sandra Etherly-Johnson.

“We are pleased to partner with our organization’s DEI expert to offer this insightful and important series,” says Brianna Mosier, executive director of Flint & Genesee Education & Talent. “Alongside that series, we have other amazing new trainings, including a Mini Leadership Series and a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Series.”

The DEI Champion Certificate Series is a three-part training program in March, April, and May. It will cover topics such as Understanding Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Identity, Power, and Privilege; and Corporate Social Responsibility.

“We know when employees feel valued, engaged, and included, amazing things can happen,” says Etherly-Johnson. “With this series, we are aiming to deepen individuals’ understanding of DEI both in the workplace and society so that they can spark awareness, inspire meaningful conversations, and make a change.”

After the series, DEI Champions will not only gain knowledge and skills but also special access to the DEI Champion Training site, which includes a library of DEI educational resources, and a DEI Champion badge that they can use in their email signatures and on company websites.

Other workshops offered by Flint & Genesee Education & Talent between February and May 2025 include Turning Your Goals into Reality, Grant Writing 201, and Social Awareness – The Ultimate Level of Emotional Intelligence.
