(FLINT, MICH. – October 15, 2014) Today, the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Committee announced a recommendation for support of the City of Flint proposals on the November 4 ballot. The six proposals are designed to facilitate an update to the city’s 40-year-old charter.
“The proposals start the process for changing the City of Flint Charter,” said Steve Landaal, Co-Chair, Flint & Genesee Chamber Public Policy Committee and President, Landaal Packaging Systems. “Passage of the six proposals will provide significant savings for the city and keep the city moving in a positive direction, which would be good for entire region.”
The City of Flint Charter serves as the city’s constitution, setting forth rights and responsibilities, as well as guidelines for governance.
