The following statement should be attributed to Tim Herman, CEO of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, regarding General Motors’ announcement today of new investments at the company’s Flint Assembly facility:
On any day, General Motors’ $32 million investment in Flint Assembly would be great news but it is especially great news coming at a time when Michigan is navigating the effects of a public health and economic crisis. This is a strong testament to the Flint-area workforce who make the heavy-duty Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups with great pride. Over the past decade or so, GM has made substantial capital investments in the Flint and Genesee County community, most recently the construction of the all-new GM Customer Care and Aftersales facility in Burton. This newest announcement further demonstrates GM’s confidence in the tremendous talent in Flint & Genesee and commitment to our region.
