Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce PTAC Hosts Federal Contracting Opportunities Workshop

5-Part Government Contracting Certification Series Begins Again

(FLINT, MICH – June 20) Are you interested in working with the federal government?  Do you want to know more about how to tap into the more $500 billion government marketplace?  Then you should join the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) as they host Federal Opportunities 1.0.  The workshop takes place on Wednesday, June 26 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Fenton City Hall in Fenton.

Federal Opportunities 1.0 begins a new cycle of PTAC’s five-part certification series that is designed to provide businesses with the knowledge necessary to participate in government contracting.

Dustin Frigy, Director of the Chamber’s PTAC says the certification series is being offered for the second time this year to help businesses take advantage of the growth opportunities available through government contracting.  He says the series provides all of the information needed to pursue local, state and federal government contracts, along with navigating the bid process and developing proposals.

“Businesses should take advantage of this opportunity to learn the ins and outs of working with the government,” said Frigy.  “We are repeating this series because we know the difference learning the process has made for a number of businesses in Flint and Genesee County.  Our goal is to help a greater number of businesses realize their growth potential.”

Attendees also will learn about the services and support the Chamber PTAC has available to help with the contracting process. The series will benefit management and employees who currently support or have an interest in facilitating government contracting within their companies.

 Upcoming certification seminars include:

  • July 24                   Navigating Bid Opportunities 2.0
  • August 7                State Contract Opportunities 3.0
  • August 21              Elements of a State Proposal 4.0
