5-Part Government Contracting Certification Series Begins Again
(FLINT, MICH – July 19) Are you interested in working with the federal government? Do you know how to identify the right government bids for your company? Then you should join the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) as they host the combined Federal Opportunities 1.0 and Navigating Bids 2.0 workshop. The workshop takes place on Wednesday, July 24 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Fenton City Hall in Fenton.
Federal Opportunities 1.0 and Navigating Bids 2.0 begin a new cycle of PTAC’s five-part certification series that is designed to provide businesses with the knowledge necessary to participate in government contracting.
According to Dustin Frigy, Director of the Chamber’s PTAC understanding the bid process and identifying opportunities are the first steps in becoming a government contractor. He says the combined workshop provides all of the information needed to pursue federal government contracts, along with navigating the bid process and developing proposals.
“Businesses should take advantage of this opportunity to learn the ins and outs of working with the federal government,” said Frigy. “Navigating the government contracting maize can be very challenging. This workshop will provide the information needed to help your business grow.”
Lanny Valentine, Business Development Manager for Teachout Security says businesses are missing the boat if they don’t take advantage of the ways PTAC can help your business grow.
“PTAC is a great business resource,” said Valentine. “I’ve been in business since 1963 and I wish I knew about PTAC 50 years ago. They provide you with everything you need to gain government contracts. PTAC has done all the work and they share it with you. I have been able to bid on contracts that I would not have known about without PTAC. Now we are able to build our portfolio as government contractors.”
Attendees also will learn about the services and support the Chamber PTAC has available to help with the contracting process. The series will benefit management and employees who currently support or have an interest in facilitating government contracting within their companies.
Upcoming certification seminars include:
- August 7 State Contract Opportunities 3.0
- August 21 Elements of a State Proposal 4.0
- September 11 Flint & Genesee Contract Opportunities 5.0
There is no cost to participate in the series, but registration is required. The Fenton City Hall is located at 301 S. Leroy St. in Fenton.
