(FLINT, MICH. – March 24, 2014) On Wednesday, April 2 the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce will hold its 2014 Annual Meeting at the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre. The luncheon event will begin at 12:00 p.m.
The Annual Meeting will feature Chamber accomplishments in 2013, business success stories and focus areas for 2014. In addition, the Art Hurand Award, which recognizes an individual or organization that exemplifies outstanding community spirit, will be presented at the meeting.
Mark Reuss GM’s Executive Vice President of Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain will be the keynote speaker. Reuss is in charge of developing GM’s product, including vehicle engineering and design, as well as powertrains marketed in over 120 countries.
Reuss’ presentation will focus on product and community activities in Flint and provide an update on new cars and trucks.
According to Tim Herman, Chamber CEO this year’s Annual Meeting is happening at an exciting time for the region. He says it is fitting to include a look toward growth in the future, along with a renewed commitment to the region from GM.
“We are looking forward to our Annual Meeting,” said Herman. “Every year we bring together all of our partners to acknowledge how important they are to the work we do every day. The meeting also serves as a platform for us to look at the impact the Chamber is having on the region.”
