Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce to Recognize Business and Hospitality Achievements

(FLINT, MICH. – October 29) Business leadership, superior customer service and outstanding hospitality will be on full display as the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce honors some of our region’s businesses, as well as committed and innovative individuals at the 2014 Art of Achievement Awards. U.S. Congressman Dan Kildee will host the awards ceremony, which takes place on Thursday, November 6 at the Riverfront Banquet Center in downtown Flint.

Tim Herman, CEO of the Flint & Genesee Chamber says the event will highlight those businesses and individuals who contribute to the strength of Flint & Genesee.

“We anticipate a great program,” said Herman.  “It is an honor to have Congressman Kildee serve as the host for this inaugural celebration of achievement. We want to celebrate the businesses and individuals who make Flint & Genesee a great place to live, work and visit.”

As a comprehensive recognition of achievement in the region, the new program will honor businesses and individuals in 12 categories covering business and hospitality. The Art of Achievement Awards are the evolution of previous celebrations of business excellence hosted by the Chamber as part of the biennial Business Awards and Athena Awards programs combined with the Flint & Genesee Convention & Visitors Bureau’s celebration of service excellence hosted through the annual Hospitality Awards program.

  • Community Champion Award

According to Heather Kale, Director of Member Services for the Flint & Genesee Chamber the awards serve as an opportunity to bring the community together to celebrate the art of achievement.

“I encourage area businesses and members of the hospitality industry to join us on November 6,” said Kale.  “This is an opportunity to highlight the great work that is happening across Flint & Genesee, while enjoying great entertainment.”

The awards event begins with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and a program at 7:30 p.m. featuring the presentation of awards.
