(FLINT – Aug. 9, 2017) Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce CEO Tim Herman today announced a leadership restructuring that will strengthen the Chamber’s ability to serve its customers, achieve its strategic plan and increase organizational effectiveness.
“Today’s announcement is about positioning the Chamber for long-term growth,” said Herman. “The leadership realignment ensures that we have the right talent in key positions and we are prepared for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.”
Following are the leadership changes, effective Aug. 7.
Elizabeth (Liz) Murphy was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, bringing 30 years of corporate and municipal leadership experience to the position. All Chamber operations report to Liz. She was formerly a Group Vice President.
Kristina Johnston was promoted to Group Vice President, replacing George Wilkinson. She will oversee Economic Development, Community Outreach, Member Services, the Procurement Technical Assistance Center, and the Grants and Development department. Kristina was formerly the Director of Grants and Development.
DeAndra McCain was promoted to Group Vice President, replacing Liz Murphy. She will oversee Education & Training and the Flint & Genesee Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). DeAndra was formerly the Director of Core Initiatives and the CVB.
Janice Karcher was promoted to Senior Vice President-Economic Development. She oversees major economic development projects, assists with Uptown Reinvestment Corporation projects, will establish a new municipality program, and represents Flint and Genesee County in the I-69 Thumb Region partnership. Janice was formerly Vice President-Economic Development.
Brandon Morgan was promoted to Director of the CVB, replacing DeAndra McCain. He will lead efforts to market Flint and Genesee County as a destination and supervise the CVB staff. Brandon was formerly Associate Director of the CVB and Core Initiatives.
Michelle Hill has assumed new responsibilities becoming Director of Core Initiatives and Shared Services. She leads business and leadership training activities, shared services, public policy initiatives, and manages board relations. Michelle was formerly Director of Shared Services.
Tyler Rossmaessler joined the Flint & Genesee Chamber as Director of Business Development. He will lead business investment and job creation projects, and supervise staff that work on business retention and expansion. Tyler was formerly a Business Development Manager at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Effective Sept. 1
Lottie Ferguson will join the Flint & Genesee Chamber as the Director of Grants and Development. She will oversee the department staff and activities. Lottie was formerly Fund Development Specialist at the Ennis Center for Children.
