The Flint Firebirds, fresh off a promising 2016-17 campaign, are looking ahead to next season with sustained optimism. And the team is looking to improve its bench strength at home by bolstering its roster of season ticket-holders for the 2017-18 season.
Season tickets are on sale now. In addition to reaching out to individual hockey fans, the organization is making a special appeal to local companies and organization with the Flint Firebirds Business Experience.
The “Experience” is designed to give new give businesses the opportunity to market themselves in the area’s premier sports arena.
“Our ‘Firebirds Business Experience’ has been tailored to fit the needs of local businesses of any size,” said Kevin Mays, Director of Ticket Sales for the Firebirds. “Being the only professional sports franchise in our community, we recognize a great opportunity to provide our community with the chance to showcase their companies on a great stage.”
Businesses have a choice of four packages: Silver, Silver Plus, Gold and Gold Plus. All packages include tickets, parking passes, concourse showcases, VIP/Blue Line Club Entries and program advertisements. Specific details depend upon the level purchased. Additional features include video board slides for the upper-level packages.
Season ticket-holders also enjoy access to exclusive experiences, such as ‘Meet the Team’ open houses, season ticket-holder holiday parties, end-of-the-year events, and orientation/rookie camp invites.
“These marketing-focused initiatives give businesses the opportunity to create real-time traffic and opportunities to showcase their brands. While providing client and employee retention benefits as well as an opportunity to gain exposure to 2,500-plus people per event, this experience can be a game changer for any company.
“Overall, our main focus is to add value to our community partners as quickly as possible and we believe this is a great opportunity to do so,” Mays said.
The Firebirds compete in the Ontario Hockey League, the premier development league for the National Hockey League. The OHL consists of 20 teams – 17 are based in Ontario, two teams in Michigan (the Flint Firebirds and Saginaw Spirit) and one team in Pennsylvania, the Erie Otters.
The Firebirds finished last season with a record 32-28 (.529 percent) and a playoff berth. It was considerable improvement over the 2015-2016 campaign when the team posted a record of 20-42 (.338 percent).
More than 80 percent of the OHL games are televised every year through its broadcast partners Comcast 900/Xfinity, Rogers TV, TVCogeco, Eastlink, Shaw TV and the NHL Network.
