To promote health and wellness within the local business community, the Greater Flint Health Coalition’s Commit to Fit! program is gearing up for its ninth annual Fall 4 Fitness Challenge.
The business-to-business wellness competition is available free-of-charge to any Flint & Genesee business, organization or community group interested in bringing wellness to the workplace.
Here’s how it works: From Oct. 1-31, individual employees of participating businesses will aim to log at least 35 minutes of physical activity daily at commit2fit.com. In doing so, they will earn Commit to Fit! Wellness Points for their business, organization or community group.
Based on their employee participation, businesses will compete against one another for the recognition of “Highest Level of Participation,” “Highest Level of Goal Attainment” and “Healthiest Business in Genesee County.”
Individuals participants who reach the challenge goal of 35 minutes of physical activity daily will also be entered into a raffle drawing to win prizes, including cash and fitness club memberships.
The competition will officially kick off with relay races Sept. 27 at the Flint Farmers’ Market.
To participate in this year’s wellness challenge, employers should first complete the online business commitment form. Local residents and/or employees from registered businesses can join the challenge by logging in at www.commit2fit.com.
