Enihcam Opens New Tech Center; Launches Partnership with SMTCL

(Fenton, MICH. – November 13, 2014) Enihcam recently opened its newly expanded facility in Fenton Township. The renovated facility represents a $1.5 million investment and will result in 30-50 new jobs over the next three years. In addition, Enihcam also launched a partnership with China-based SMTCL.

“It’s great that Enihcam has chosen to grow in Genesee County,” said Tim Herman, CEO, Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce.  “Our Economic Development team worked with Enihcam to support their relocation to Fenton.  The expansion of this facility and the inclusion of a SMTCL showroom is a good thing for our region.”

According to Brian Schram, President of Enihcam partnerships and collaboration are key elements of how the company plans to grow in the region.

“We are pleased to partner with local companies in the region, as well as explore broader partnerships through our relationship with SMTCL,” said Schram. “Our facility will be the only place in the region to see firsthand the CNC machines and other manufacturing products the company offers. It is a great opportunity for us to serve as the gateway to the eastern United States for SMTCL.”

“SMTCL is very excited and honored to have Enihcam selling and supporting our products,” said Jerry McCarty, Chief Operating Officer of SMTCL-Americas. “The commitment they have made with their 65,000 square foot tech center for machine inventory, parts, and training demonstrates a belief in Michigan manufacturing and shows the high standards that SMTCL and Enihcam have for customer support.”

“Manufacturing in Michigan has been critical to the United States throughout our history.  As SMTCL goes forward into our exciting future, Michigan will play a key role and we look forward to a long relationship with Michigan manufacturers and with Enihcam for many years to come. SMTCL introduced 8 new machine models this year and will be introducing new technology next year and for several years to come. Enihcam’s facility will play a key role in providing SMTCL a state-of-the-art Regional Technology Center and a parts hub for the entire eastern United States.”

Bonnie Mathis, Supervisor of Fenton Township says Enicham’s new facility is a good thing for the township.

“We are pleased that Enihcam chose to locate here in Fenton Township,” said Mathis.  “The company is a welcome addition to our business community and the region.  It is great to know that the township continues to be a good place to do business and that we can play a role in the global economy.  Congratulations to the entire Enihcam team.”
