Cyril Salon and Spa to give free children’s haircuts for school supplies

(FLINT, Mich. Aug. 19, 2013) — Cyril Salon and Spa will host a school supply drive Aug. 19 through 23 to benefit YouthQuest. The Salon will give children a free haircut with a school supply donation or the purchase of an adult haircut. The donation drive will culminate with a family fun night from 4-8 p.m. Aug. 23, complete with bounce house, face painting and snacks.

“We selected YouthQuest to be the recipient of the school supply donations because we believe in what the program stands for and we feel it is important to empower the youth in our community, said Christin Epke, Marketing Coordinator for Cyril Salon and Spa.

YouthQuest is a free afterschool program that reaches more than 2,000 K-8 students at 15 school-based sites in Flint and Genesee County managed by the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce (F&GCC). Carrie Crump and Malissa Pierce, owners of Cyril Salon and Spa, learned about the YouthQuest program through the business’s F&GCC membership.

“Cyril Salon and Spa feels strongly about its commitment to the community. We regularly donate salon services to local charities on an average of two per month,” said Epke.
