Chamber Aims to be ‘One Stop Resource’ for Business Training

(FLINT, Mich., March 5, 2014) — Business training just got better in Flint & Genesee. The Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce (FGCC) has expanded its business training opportunities to include a broader variety of online training courses, new seminars on popular topics such as social media and digital marketing for business professionals and a series of nationally recognized employee development workshops.

“We are pleased to offer these new and varied professional training resources to our members and the business community in Flint & Genesee,” said Tim Herman, Chamber CEO. “Now, more than ever, the Chamber is the business community’s ‘one-stop’ connection to employer workforce, education and training needs.”

A recent survey showed 77 percent of members feel Chamber business training provides value to their companies.

New for 2014, the Chamber will offer Coggno webinar training and ‘ZingTrain’ seminars to businesses in Flint & Genesee County.

Coggno is an online, on-demand program offering thousands of training courses for employee development and certification in a variety of categories, including Human Resources, Compliance, Workplace Safety, Software, Business Management and more.

Coggno courses will be available through the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce web site. All courses will be available on-demand, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be administered through an employee’s workstation, home computer or mobile device.

Zingerman’s Training Inc., or ZingTrain, is a series of half-day workshops sharing the Zingerman’s nationally renowned approach to business.  ZingTrain offers seminars on a range of business-related topics, ranging from Customer Service and Leadership to Marketing and Human Resources.

Back by popular demand, the Social Media & Digital Marketing Lunch & Learn seminars hosted by MLive /The Flint Journal for Chamber members. These seminars educate and equip business owners and professionals with the knowledge and practical tools they need to compete and stand out in the realm of social media and online marketing.

Participants may attend all Lunch & Learn sessions, or only those most appealing to them.  There is no charge to attend these monthly sessions for Chamber members, and lunch is included. Sessions run from noon to 1 p.m. at the MLive Media Group, 540 S. Saginaw St, Flint.
