St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner. Whether you celebrate with a corned beef dinner or a pint of Guinness, there are plenty of events happening in Flint & Genesee to fit your fancy. Deck yourself out in green (or orange) and celebrate the day with one of these upcoming events.
On Thursday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Catholic Charities is hosting their annual St. Patrick’s Day Box Lunch Sale. The box lunch includes a corned beef sandwich, chips, coleslaw, a pickle and a treat for $7. You can pre-order your box lunch by going to caltholiccharitiesflint.org/stpatricksday.
If you are looking for a place to go on Saturday, March 17, you can:
- Stop by the Davison Farmers Market in the morning and visit Lucky the Leprechaun who will be hiding coins around the market. If you are lucky enough to find one, you can turn it in for a special prize. For more information, click here.
- Visit Spicers Winery for a Rueben dip with Irish soda bread and a glass of green hard cider.
- Check out a local bar. Places such as Timothy’s Pub, Bar Louie, Sherman’s Lounge, The Agitated Grape and The Corner Bar have special menus, drink specials and entertainment for the night.
- Get active for St. Patrick’s Day with the Pot O’ Gold 4 mile run & walk downtown Flint. Or if you are feeling slightly less ambitious, participate in the Paddy’s Day 1/2K Draft Dash and Beer Fest and run 1,640 feet instead of 4 miles. And follow that up with beer samples, food vendors and Irish entertainment.
