The Small Business Association of Michigan on June 18 honored Fenton Winery & Brewery Co-Founder and Owner Ginny Sherrow as its Advocate of the Year.

“Ginny has long been an engaged SBAM member but took her advocacy to the next level this year by representing small businesses at the Capitol, testifying about the impact COVID-19 restrictions have on small businesses,” said SBAM President Brian Calley. “We can always count on Ginny to go above and beyond to advocate for small businesses with legislators and business owners alike and that’s why she is our Advocate of the Year.”

SBAM honored Sherrow, one of its most active small business advocates, for going above and beyond with her advocacy on behalf of all small businesses during the difficulties created by the pandemic. Sherrow is an active member of SBAM’s Grassroots Network, and a member of SBAM’s Leadership Council.

Fenton Winery and Brewery was founded in 2007 by Sherrow and her husband Matt, who have lived in Fenton for more than 16 years. It is an award-winning and innovative microbrewery with a public taproom, sprawling park-like wine and beer garden, a full-service wedding and banquet venue and retail story for carry-out.

The award was presented during SBAM’s Annual Meeting, which was held virtually.
