Karena Hamlet has been named the Business Development Specialist at the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce. In her new capacity Ms. Hamlet will plan and conduct outreach and assistance for existing area firms. The Business Development Specialist helps to coordinate the various services the Regional Chamber provides to area firms.
“Karena Hamlet has worked with the Economic Development staff at the Regional Chamber for nine years and brings her special skills and talent to this new position,” said Tim Herman, Regional Chamber CEO. “I am very pleased Karena is taking on increased responsibility at the Regional Chamber and I am confident her many years of service will be a key asset for the organization in her new capacity.”
Ms. Hamlet joined the Regional Chamber staff in 2001 as an Administrative Assistant working with the retention/expansion team. She held that position until November of last year when she advanced to the position of Executive Assistant to the CEO.
Prior to joining the Regional Chamber Ms. Hamlet held similar positions with General Motors and the Ramada Inn. She holds an Associate of Business Management degree from Baker College and will complete her bachelor’s degree next year. Ms. Hamlet is a life-long resident of Genesee County.
