Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad are a magical place, and never more so than during the holidays. The authentic Great Lakes town from the turn of the last century has more than 34 historic structures that allow visitors to experience first-hand what life was like in a small village in Michigan in the late 1800s.
Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve the Village is decorated with thousands of lights and costumed villagers are on hand to demonstrate and explain 1800s holiday traditions. The Colwell Opera House presents live entertainment and Santa Claus visits with children.
In addition, the Huckleberry Railroad is decked out for the holidays to take visitors on a festive nighttime ride, while indoors there are model trains and vintage craft demonstrations, the restored carousel takes riders for a whirl, holiday music plays and there are shops full of unique gifts.
Christmas at Crossroads Holiday Magic is open on weekends from Nov. 29 to Dec. 29 from 4 to 9 p.m. For ticket and train departure information visit: http://geneseecountyparks.org/pages/Christmas
