Women Leaders to be Honored at Athena Awards

On Thursday, November 8 the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce will honor Genesee County women leaders at the Athena Awards Banquet.  The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Gateway at 6:00 p.m.   The Athena Awards honor women who personify excellence professionally, work to improve the quality of life for others and work to help other women realize their leadership potential.

Dianne Dinkel, President and CEO of ATHENA International will serve as the keynote speaker. The event will also include the announcement of the Katherine Roat Stevens Scholarship recipients and the Regional Chamber Ambassador of the Year.

The evening begins with a reception at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:15 and the program at 7:00 p.m.  This year’s event includes the ATHENA award recipient and the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership award recipient.  The Young Professional Leadership award honors emerging leaders who demonstrate creativity, initiative and excellence in their profession and a commitment to community. The honorees were competitively selected from among thirteen ATHENA nominees and five ATHENA Young Professional nominees.
