A Guide to Capitol Theatre Spring & Summer Line Up

The Capitol Theatre in downtown Flint has been building its show schedule for the spring and summer over the last few weeks. Coming off hosting Mark Farner and the Guess Who, the renovated historic theatre is ramping up its programming with these new shows:

Black Violin – April 26 & 27

Led by classically trained string players Wil B. and Kev Marcus, the band uses their unique blend of classical and hip-hop music to overcome stereotypes while encouraging people of all ages, races and economic backgrounds to join together to break down cultural barriers.

Mega 80’s with special guest Class of ’98 – May 17

Mega 80’s brings classical songs, retro fashion and a video spectacle. The Class of ’98 brings back all things 90’s featuring tunes from ‘NSYNC, Snoop Dogg, Nirvana and the Spice Girls.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters & Toad the Wet Sprocket – June 13

With both bands reaching their 30-year mark, Big Head Todd and the Monster, and Toad the Wet Sprocket are bringing new and classic music to their ’19 summer tour.

Brandon Carr’s All Star Comedy Jam

NFL Star Brandon Carr is bringing laughter to downtown Flint with his 2nd annual charity comedy show. The show will feature Tony Rock, Na’im Lynn, Faizon Love and B Simone.

The Mighty O.A.R. – June 27

With the release of their newest album, the O.A.R. is touring nationally with a stop in Flint. Along for the tour is the band American Authors.

An Evening with Home Free – June 29

The all-vocal country music sensation is coming to town after releasing their most recent full-length album, Timeless.

Tiffany Jenkins: This Show is Awkward AF – June 30

Tiffany Jenkins is a wife, mother, author, content creator and recovering addict who is best known for her funny viral Facebook videos. This intimate show will give the audience a look into her life.

Marlon Wayans Live – July 19

A member of the famed Wayans family, Marlon Wayans, is bringing his live stand-up show to Flint.

Pop 2000 Tour Hosted by Lance Bass – August 10

The Pop 2000 Tour will bring back early aughts favorites including O-Town, Aaron Carter, Ryan Cabrera and Tyler Hilton.

103.9 The Fox Presents JJ Grey & Mofro and Jonny Lang – August 17

Musicians JJ Grey & Mofro and Jonny Lang have teamed up for a night of blues, soul and rock ‘n’ roll at the Capitol Theatre.
